This year’s annual LeadingAge meeting and expo in Boston, MA promises to focus on innovative care and services that meet the unique needs of older adults. Taking place November 1-4, 2015, the conference will attract approximately 10,000 nurses, administrators and owners from across the nation. The largest conference in aging services, LeadingAge offers more than 150 educational sessions, expert keynote speakers, entertainment options, an expo hall full of new products, technology and services, networking opportunities and much more.
Drs. Joseph Coughlin and Mark McClellan will speak about the intersection of technology and policy and how to advance aging services through technology. Dr. Coughlin, Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab, researches how an aging population will shape future innovations in business and government. As director of the Healthcare Innovation and Value Initiative at the Brookings Institution, Dr. McClellan focuses on promoting quality and value in patient-centered healthcare.
Practicing surgeon, best-selling author and staff writer for The New Yorker, Dr. Atul Gawande will speak on “Being Mortal” and how a person’s last weeks or months can be fulfilling, rich and dignified.
Daniel Pink is the author of five best-selling books about business, work and behavior. He will talk about how to drive high performance and job satisfaction by tapping into people’s innate human need for autonomy, mastery and purpose.
There will also be a special tribute on Tuesday’s general session to Larry Minnix, outgoing President and CEO of LeadingAge.
More than 150 expert-led education sessions will offer training and resources for providers in the entire field of aging services to enhance their offerings. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to multiple CEUs by participating in the main convention programming. Attendees must be registered for a CE eligible category and need to tap in and tap out of each session to receive credit.
With more than 500 exhibitors at the largest trade show in the aging services field, the LeadingAge expo offers attendees a chance to see new products, learn about state-of-the-art technology and talk with representatives about innovative services. Dedicated exhibit hall hours will give attendees time to browse exhibits and participate in fun expo hall events, such as the “Head Shot Studio”, “Idea Tank”, “Cheers Bar” and more.
LeadingAge has planned a number of member site visits during which attendees can take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the innovative features and unique programming of member facilities in the Boston area.
