Does your organization have a healthy practice environment? Research has proven that positive practice impacts not only well-being of clinical staff, but more importantly, patient care and ultimately, outcomes.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) will hold its annual Pathway to Excellence® Conference May 1-3, 2018 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, West Palm Beach. Fla. Take part in targeted discussions and networking opportunities that will provide you with new ideas and strategies to create a positive practice environment and transform your organization’s culture
ANCC’s Pathway to Excellence Conference continues to experience strong attendance growth since its inception in 2011, with over 1,200 nursing professionals, including a growing number of international attendees as well as large healthcare systems.
The Pathway to Excellence® Program recognizes a healthcare organization's commitment to creating a positive nursing practice environment. To qualify for ANCC's Pathway designation, organizations must meet 6 practice standards essential to an ideal nursing practice environment.
Some of the attendees will include everyone from chief nursing officers (CNO) and directors of nursing (DON), to nursing case managers and staff nurses.
Nurses will be in attendance from any size or type of healthcare organization that care for patients or residents, including acute, pre/post-acute, and long-term care organizations. There will also be a contingent from ambulatory and independent outpatient organizations, such as clinics, dialysis centers, home care providers, hospices, physician offices, surgical centers, and similar organizations.
Just a few of the benefits attendees will receive include:
Attendees of the 2018 ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference® may also earn a maximum
of 14.5 continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours: 10.5 contact hours for conference and poster sessions, and 4 contact hours for virtual oral presentations.
In the opening general session, join Dr. Aviad Haramati, Director of Georgetown University School of Medicine’s Center for Innovation and Leadership in Education, for a closer look at how mindfulness can help us deal with stressors, build resilience, and improve well-being. Presenting "Managing Stress, Building Resilience: The Imperative of Mindfulness and Self-Care," he’ll explore mindfulness practices aimed at strengthening attention, engaging the relaxation response, and cultivating the ability to connect more deeply with others and with yourself. Learn successful approaches to incorporate mindfulness and self-care into your nursing practice and build a stronger, more resilient nursing team.
In the final keynote, "Promoting Pride in Healthcare," strategist and author Liz Jazwiec, RN, focuses on her passion: restoring pride in healthcare. She believes that one of the biggest crises we face is that people working in healthcare no longer feel heroic. The first step to change this is to make sure that people working together know how to embrace and receive compliments and recognition. She offers a straightforward approach to the connection between recognition, engagement, and pride as she reminds people to focus on the strengths of individuals and the ability to work together to make a difference in people’s lives.
The conference will also feature networking receptions, poster sessions, virtual presentations, and an exhibit hall full of the latest in healthcare products and services.
