Blog » Celebrating NPD Week 2018
This year's Nursing Professional Development Week, brought to you by the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD), will be celebrated September 23-29, 2018.
NPD Week recognizes the work done by nursing professional development practitioners and clinical educators. During this week, take the time to celebrate your achievements, thank your staff, host educational activities, and teach others about the importance of nursing professional development.
Enter your facility's nursing professional development department in the NPD Week video contest. Submit a short video (60 seconds) of you and your team sharing the value of nursing professional development practice to your organization. Videos will be shared throughout the week on ANPD’s social media sites.
Videos must be submitted to email@example.com by 11:59 pm CT on Friday, September 28, 2018 to be entered into the contest. The winner receives a $100 gift card to use towards a celebration for their entire NPD department.
Post your NPD Week spirit photos on the ANPD Facebook page. Be sure to include the names of all individuals in the photos and the name of your organization.
ANPD has all the merchandise you need to celebrate NPD Week in their online store. Gear up with your team. Items include notebooks, t-shirts, cardigans, travel mugs, lunch boxes, ANPD pins and post-it notes that can be purchased to show your NPD Week pride.
This year’s free educational recording is Dr. Allison Rossett’s keynote presentation at the 2018 ANPD Annual Convention, “Beyond Kirkpatrick: Targeted Strategies for Evaluating Programs and People.” Set a reminder to register for the recording in the Professional Development Center for free any time during NPD Week from September 23-29, 2018. Please note: this item is only free during 2018 NPD Week.
In addition to the free educational recording, be sure to register for ANPD’s September webinar, “Creating Joy in the Workplace Through Resiliency Building.” This webinar will take place during NPD Week on September 26, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. EST. The webinar is free for ANPD members and $80 for non-members. Pre-registration is required. Click here to register.
Let everyone in your organization know how your professional development department is celebrating NPD Week. ANPD's website features a toolkit that includes an article template which can be customized. You can also download the ANPD 2018 NPD Week logo and other images.
Thanks again to NPDs and clinical educators for all your efforts to ensure clinical competency and safe patient care at the bedside. Enjoy your week!
